44th International Kolkata Book Fair 2020 was Announced

A per the International Book Fair Calendar, released by the International Publishers Association, Geneva, the Fair will be open to all from 29th January 2020 afternoon till 9th February 2020. The fair will be inaugurated on 29th January 2020 in the presence of Chief Guest,

Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee and other dignitaries. With the love and support of the book lovers, the Kolkata Book Fair became immensely successful at the New venue, Central Park. This year, Publishers and Booksellers Guild Announced Russia as their Focal Theme Country. They are extremely

honoured to welcome and had the privilege to have with them on the Press Meet Alexey Idamkin, Hon'ble Consul General of Russia in Kolkata. He had apprised everyone in brief about the participation of Russia at The International Kolkata Book Fair 2020. The well-decorated pavilion of Russia in combination with their contemporary literature, culture, film and songs, will be a big attraction at the 44th International Kolkata Book Fair 2020. The international complex will also have the presence of UK, USA, Japan Vietnam, France, Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Australia, 11 Latin America countries and a big pavilion of Bangladesh. In this year, they are going to celebrate the 200th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, the great personality of Bengal Renaissance, in proper respect and regards at the Book Fair. Publishers from the States of India like Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Nagaland, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Odisha will also be an integral part of the event. Publishers and Booksellers Guild unveiled the focal theme and the logo of this year's Bookfair in their first Press Conference. The launching event and the first press conference was attended by President of Publishers and Bookseller's Guild Tridib Kumar Chatterjee, Hony. General Secretary of Publishers and Booksellers Guild Sudhangshu Sekhar Dey, Hon'ble Russian Consul General in Kolkata Alexey Idamkin and other dignitaries.​
