44th International Kolkata Book Fair was Inaugurated
News Desk, News Nation 360 : The most-awaited 44th International Kolkata Book Fair 2020 was inaugurated in presence of Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Vladimir Grigoriev, H.E. Kudashev Nikolay Rishatovich, Ambassador of Russia in India, Aleksei Idamkin, Hon'ble Consul General of Russia in Kolkata, Eugene Vodolazkin, Vadim Polonsky and Eugene Reznichenko from the Theme Country Russia, eminent essayist Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri and Hon'ble Ministers of West Bengal. This year, as Russia is the Focal Theme Country of the Book Fair, Four Books from Russia have been translated into Bengali and will be Published at the Book Fair. The names of the translated books are Bigyapone Melena, Frosia Karovina, Ek theke dosh Prem and Rongberong er Tushar. In the inauguration ceremony of this year's International Book Fair 2020, West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's 101st Book was released. Not only her 101st Book but several more
books of her were also published in the presence of the eminent guests. This year 30th January 2020 will be celebrated as the Focal Theme Russian Day. Children's Day will be celebrated on 02nd October 2020. 09th October 2020 will be celebrated as Bangladesh Day. 09th February 2020 will also be the day of Prize Distributing Day. This year Gate no 1 - The Sampriti Gate - will be the symbol of unity, harmony and integrity, Gate no 3 - The Replica of India Gate, Gate no 4 - The Replica of Sanskrit College, Gate no 5 - The Replica of Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Gate no 6 - Biswa Bangla Gate, Gate no 9 - Replica of Jorasanko Thakurbari. This year, the roads and lanes of the Book Fair have been named after departed authors of Bengal and Russia. Eminent personalities from Europe and Latin American countries will be visiting the upcoming Book Fair. This year, Tyto is the Official Mascot of this Book Fair. Tyto is a category of bird species consisting of an Owls, Grass Owls and Masked Owls.
