Covid Jab for East-West Metro Workers
News Desk, News Nation 360 : Over 950 construction staff, their family members, and workers at Afcons’ East-West Metro project, in Kolkata, received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in a major vaccination drive initiated by the infrastructure major at all its sites globally. The vaccination drive is a major shot in the arm not only for KMRC but also for Afcons to complete the remaining project works despite the continuous onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic. The vaccination camp was divided into two phases (June 2 & June 6, 2021) to accommodate a large turnout, and a hundred per cent vaccination for the first jab was achieved on Sunday. Afcons tied up with Apollo Gleneagles Hospital for the initiative. Afcons’ Project Manager Satya Narayan Kunwar said that they are extremely happy to be able to organise this vaccination camp in line with their management’s vision to extend complete vaccine support to their employees, their families, and their workers. They received an overwhelming response from everyone. Their workers come from various parts of the country. So, it was important to educate them about the immediate need for vaccination. The workers were briefed and subsequently given their first jabs. He would like to thank everyone for their cooperation. Organising the vaccination camp was not easy in the face of vaccine shortage in the country. He thanked and appreciate the hard work done by the team to drive this initiative and extend the safety net for as many people as possible.
