Cardiological Society of India Organised Eastern India Echo & Imaging Conclave
News Desk, News Nation 360 : Heart disease is the globe’s biggest slayer, demanding about 17.5 million lives every year. In India, heart disease, particularly cardiovascular disease is progressing day by day. The average age for cardiovascular disease is also decreased. According to WHO (World Health Organisation), if it so happens, soon it will be an epidemic in India. Again, at least 80% of premature deaths from cardiovascular disease (CVD) could be avoided, if four main risk factors – tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and harmful use of alcohol are controlled. Dr PK Deb has said that at every stage of preventive check-up and treatment Echocardiography (ECG), stress ECG, Colour Doppler Tests and other various latest echo & imaging related tests and procedure are very much important and essential. Dr Debika Chatterjee, Dr Mahesh Chaudhary, Dr P.S. Banerjee, Dr P.K. Deb, Dr Debabrata Roy, Dr Manoranjan Mondal were present in the Conclave. Dr Debabrata Roy has said that this is the First time that Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) is introduced in Eastern India. Eminent international and national speakers will grace the conference. It was attended by delegates from India as well as from SAARC countries. The conference was inaugurated by Dr Navin C Nanda who is a world-famous figure and regarded as Father of Echocardiography. In this point of view, Cardiological Society of India (CSI) West Bengal Branch is organising the First Eastern India Echo and Imaging conclave which held in ITC Sonar on 27th and 28th July 2019. Dr Mahesh Choudhury, Organising Secretary of the conference has said that this is an effort of West Bengal CSI to get all types of Cardiac Imaging under one umbrella to bridge the gap between different Cardiac Imaging modalities which will help in better management of the patients with cardiovascular disease. This is a two full day's program on all types of Cardiac Imaging including Echocardiography, Cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, Nuclear imaging, IVUS, OCT and ICE.
