Amazon Great Indian Festival to Bring Cheer to Small and Medium Businesses

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Amazon India shared a host of opportunities for small and medium businesses (SMBs) during the annual festive event ‘Great Indian Festival’ (GIF) starting from October 3, 2021. Continuing its commitment to support SMBs, Amazon GIF 2021 is dedicated to lakhs of small sellers including over 75,000 local shops from 450 cities, offering their unique selection of products to customers across the country. GIF 2021 will also showcase products from lakhs of Amazon sellers part of other programs such as Amazon Launchpad, Amazon Saheli, and Amazon Karigar, as well as top Indian and global brands across categories from various parts of the country including Kolkata, Asansol, Kharagpur and Siliguri amongst many others. Sumit Sahay, Director Selling Partner Services at Amazon India said that this festive season, they are focused on helping their sellers bounce back from the recent challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their sellers are excited and prepared to use this opportunity to revive their livelihoods, they are looking forward to the festive season to accelerate their business growth. They have over 32,000 sellers in West Bengal who will have the opportunity to showcase their products to millions of customers across the country during this festive season. They hope that this Great Indian Festival will bring growth and success to all their sellers. For their customers, their aim is to help them find everything they need during the festive season and deliver it safely to them. As per a recent study commissioned by Amazon India and conducted by Nielsen, sellers on Amazon.in are optimistic about this festive season and 98% of the surveyed sellers said that technology adoption and e-commerce have positively impacted their business. More than 78% of the surveyed Amazon sellers expect to reach out to new customers, 71% mentioned an increase in their sales and 71% mentioned a recovery in their business as their top expectations from the festive season. This year, they have also launched a special ‘Small Business Spotlight’ store on Amazon.in, where customers can discover unique festive selections like heritage handloom & handicrafts from local Indian artisans, everyday innovations from Indian direct-to-consumer start-ups and women entrepreneurs, and products from their trusted offline neighbourhood stores. Customers will be able to discover unique art and craft products from weavers and artisans across the country like Jamdani, Dhokra, Patachitra from West Bengal, Phulkari Dupatta, Punjabi Juttis and brassware from Punjab and Haryana, Banarasi, Terracotta, Chikankari from Uttar Pradesh, Pochampally Weaves, Gadwal weaves from Telangana and more
