Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology Celebrated their 10 Years of Completion


News Desk, News Nation 360 :  Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology (GMIT), one of the top private engineering colleges in Kolkata, West Bengal under JIS Group announced Free Internet connectivity or recharge every month for every student of GMIT for hassle-free online education and also distributed 10 laptops to financially backward students at the celebration of its 10 years journey. This facility will not only cater for the students who stay in urban areas but will also take care of the students who stay in remote areas. Door to a Door Library facility for every student situated in any corner of West Bengal was also announced. To make the celebration remarkable a tree plantation campaign of 10,000 trees was also declared. Speaking on the occasion, Bodhisattva Banerjee, Vice Chairman, GMIT said that the ongoing pandemic has had made a devastating impact on the students. Where the other industries are suffering, students are also facing several hurdles because of the pandemic. They believe in helping them to grow more, that is why on this special occasion they have handed over 10 laptops and also initiated free internet service for the students to have a hassle-free digital education. They will also provide Door to Door Library Facility for the students so that there would be no difficulty for them. The students can easily avail all these facilities from any part of West Bengal. GMIT currently offers courses in five disciplines namely Civil Engineering (CE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). GMIT is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), previously known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). The journey from a class-based teaching process to digital education has not been a smooth journey and internet facility is a major issue for the students who are mainly from remote areas. The main objective of providing such facilities to the students is to offer them a hassle-free educational journey.
