ICC India Startup Week Emphasised on Role of Edtech and Academia in Entrepreneurship Building

Ltd., Earth & Pots, SUPOSHOP, Protionix Technology Private Limited, Bookyberg Private Limited, Mati Farms Private Limited, Davik Food And Beverages Private Limited, Sarvagun Sampanna Private Limited, Odisha fish marine exports Pvt. Ltd, Sarala Powertech Consulting Engineers Llp, Villamart Pvt. Ltd., HAASTIKA, Bariflo Labs Private Limited, Enigma Motors, UpStage, Magicwall, Machphy Solutions, Negotrip Pvt. Ltd., Yarev Technology Private Limited, Ewarn System Private Limited, Ilashbati Services Pvt Ltd -Hire An Hour, Shubhalaxmi Future Solutions OPC P Ltd. Two consecutive presentations followed the panel discussions, the first one on Meghalaya State by Ram Mohan Mishra, Chairman, Meghalaya State Investment Promotion Board. The second presentation was a country presentation by Olga Kulikova, Business Ambassador for “Business Russia to India”. The programme ended with a Masterclass on “How to create a winning pitch? by Sanjay Mehta, Founder & Partner, 100X.VC. Rounaque Mustafa, CEO, IIML Enterprise Incubation Center (IIML-EIC) added that competence development and talent development are also done by academia as leading an organisation needs competence. He said that institutionally a mammoth change is required. He suggested that IIMs and IITs need to come together and create great entrepreneurs who will know about both technology and business. He also pointed out that 90% of Startups are funded by corporates. Termed as corporate venturing, these typically look for innovative ideas and also build good prototypes.
