P.C Chandra Group’s 6th Edition of Jahar Lal Chandra Merit Scholarship Programme

News Desk, News Nation 360:  One of the leading business groups from Eastern India P. C. Chandra Group,  distributed scholarships to 52 toppers of the Madhyamik Examination 2019 across 23 districts of West Bengal. This was done as a part of their Jahar Lal Chandra Merit Scholarship Program, marking the 6th year of the initiative. A Scholarship of Rs 50,000 each was handed over to the students by Shri Partha Chatterjee, the Hon’ble Education Minister of West Bengal at The Maple Lawn, PC Chandra Gardens. This initiative was started in the year 2014 on the 75th year of the Group, in the loving memory of

the Late Shri Jahar Lal Chandra, once the chairman of P.C Chandra Group. The first year of the program saw our Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee hand over the merit scholarships to the students. The scholarship aims to motivate some of the brightest minds across the state to strive higher and is one of the constant endeavours undertaken by the Group to promote education in the state. Shri Debshankar Haldar, the popular theatre personality conducted an extremely knowledgeable, motivational talk session with the students and their parents. He emphasized on the fact that how education is beyond syllabus, passing exams and getting placement. It is a process of exchanging knowledge and values, a process to become a better version of oneself. Shri Amitava Chandra, the Deputy Managing Director of P.C. Chandra Jewellers told, they are extremely happy to celebrate The Jaharlal Chandra Scholarship Program for the sixth year. They strongly believe that recognition of one’s achievement adds to his or her motivation quotient to scale higher and our initiative will encourage and motivate the young minds of West Bengal to focus on their studies and carve a dream career for themselves. They also organize workshops, motivational sessions and reunions of previous batches to continue our support in the path towards excellence.
