Manipal Hospital Kolkata conducted an awareness session on Lower Urinary Traction Symptoms (LUTS) for senior citizens

News Desk, News Nation 360: The second-largest healthcare provider Manipal Hospital, Salt Lake conducted a wellness and awareness program in association with the Kalindi Senior Citizens Association. The session was conducted for senior citizens on Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) by Dr. Kaushik Chandra Mallik, Consultant Urologist, Manipal Hospital, Salt Lake Kolkata. There was an interactive Q&A session on prostate problems amongst senior citizens which was attended by around 85-90 people. The session was aimed at providing insights into prostate problems and other urinary issues commonly faced by elderly people. The primary goal of the session was to equip participants with knowledge of lower urinary tract symptoms and provide insights into preventive measures. Dr Kaushik Chandra Mallik described the two broad categories of symptoms: storage symptoms and voiding symptoms. Dr. Mallik also stressed that awareness and timely intervention can significantly improve the lives of those affected. According to Dr Kaushik Chandra Mallik, understanding the signs of ailments and approaching the physician for medical advice is crucial for preventing damage of the urinary tract. Arindam Banerjee, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospital, Salt Lake, Kolkata stated that they have taken such initiatives in the past and they aim to keep working for the benefit of the mankind. Their qualified team of doctors and hospital staff always encourage such awareness sessions and they look forward for more participants to benefit on the same. The Kalindi wellness program stands out as a testament to the well-being of senior citizens. This initiative not only raises awareness but also empowers elderly people to be informed about the disease and care for urinary health.
