​Merlin Green frames Nature Photography, an awareness campaign on nature’s conservation and harmonious coexistence of man and  nature

News Desk, News Nation 360:  Merlin Green frames Nature Photography, an awareness campaign on nature’s conservation and harmonious coexistence of man and nature, finally culminated in a gala award ceremony at Merlin Aquaville adjacent to Ibiza the Fern Resort & Spa, Kolkata. The initiative aims at harnessing the power of storytelling through photography to bring people closer to their natural environment and encourage them to work towards its conservation. Photographers will be delighted to capture a wide variety of flora and fauna. Alize Suzuki under the category “Landscape: Co-existence of man and nature” won first prize, a cash prize of 11000  and Pritha Roy won the second prize, worth a sony

​hamper value of 7000. Suman Banerjee under the category “Macro” won first prize, a cash prize of 11000 and Arindam Santra won the second prize worth a sony hamper value of 7000. Pallav Roy Choudhury under the category “Birds: Their habits and habitats” won first prize, a cash prize of 11000 and Pradipta Moulik won the second prize, worth a sony hamper value of 7000. Raaqueen Majeed under the category “Blend of nature & Architect, - Host Award” won first prize, a cash prize of 15000 Abhishek Paul under this category “Flora & Fauna” won first prize, a cash prize of 11000 and Soumalya Das won the second prize, worth a Sony Gift Hamper valued at 7000. Arindam Santra under this category “. Life in Action” won first prize, a cash prize of 11000 and Alize Suzuki won the second prize, worth Sony Gift hamper, Value of 7000. Pallav Roy Choudhury won the overall prize, a cash prize of 41000 and a sony gift hamper value of 15000. Pubarun Basu, an award-winning young photographer and Bisakha Datta, a nature photographer adjudged the winners. The occasion was transformed into a rich experience as an ace actor and wildlife photographer by passion, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, enriched the audience with a vivid narrative of his wildlife photography days in nature. An Author of the book “Africay Sabyasachi”- a description of wildlife photography in Africa, Sabyasachi Chakraborty also visited the exhibition on selected nature photographs clicked by the contestants along with director Arindam Sil and Actor, Director Parambrata Chattopadhyay. Sushil Mohta, Chairman, of Merlin Group stated that this is their first such initiative on the conservation of nature. The response from people was good but they hope it can assume the shape of an awareness campaign if such an initiative is replicated by others. They do hope to continue such activity next year also at a time when a lot of migratory birds will be there. Merlin embarked on a two-day workshop and nature photography contest at Aquaville and Ibiza the Fern Resort & Spa, Kolkata on 11th and 12th March in association with  Sony India. Over 40 amateur photographers and nature enthusiasts participated in the two-day-long event and workshop. Participants from distant locations like Hooghly, Singur, Barasat, Behala, Nagerbazar, and Baguihati, came here to capture nature’s bounty through their lenses. In addition to the photography contest, Sony India also conducted interactive workshops by Saroj Dora, an expert specialist from Sony  India.  Pubarun Basu, mentor and judge of the Merlin Green Frames contest also conducted a workshop to help photographers learn new techniques with cameras and tips to improve their craft.
