The Indian Association of Physiotherapists Hosted a Meet in Kolkata
News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Indian Association of Physiotherapists hosted a meet in Kolkata, based on the concept and research status of big data, they analyze and examine the importance of constructing the knowledge of physiotherapeutic science making standardized clinical practice. Near about 250 professional Physiotherapists from all over West Bengal and 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students from different Physiotherapy Degree colleges in West Bengal have been registered for this Conference. Different high-quality scientific papers were presented in different sessions by National & International faculty & delegates. Dr K.M. Annamali (PT), MPT (Ortho), PhD Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, General Secretary IAP, Dr Joji John (PT), M.P.T. (Neuro) Specialist Neuro Physiotherapist, Delhi, Dr Jayanta Roy, Director & HOD, Department of Neuromedicine, AMRI Hospital. Mukundapur, Dr Sayan Gupta, MBBS, MRCP Medical Co-coordinator & ICU in Charge, North City Hospital, Dr Shabnam Agarwal (PT), MPT, PhD, Nopany Group of Institutions Chief Physiotherapist, Belle Vue Clinic Director (Education), Kousik Chakravorty, Senior Journalist, Shib Sankar Paul, Ex Indian Men's Cricket Team Player and Coach of Bengal Senior Women's team were in the Speaker Panel. Dr Santanu Sen Member of Parliament; Rajya Shabha, Joydeep Karmakar, Olympic shooter, Dr (Prof.) Sanjiv Kumar Jha, National President (Executive), Dr Ruchi Varshney, famous Sports & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, Head, Women cell IAP, Dr Arup Kant Saha (PT) Chairperson of the conference were also present at the inaugural ceremony. In the state of West Bengal, Physiotherapists need Independent Physiotherapy Council like other states for example - Maharashtra, Delhi, and Gujarat. The association does not happy with the AM & PM Council Act, 2015, in which the Physiotherapy profession defines imperfectly in compare with National and International status of the physiotherapy. They are thankful to the Government of West Bengal for recruiting 200+ physiotherapists in different Government Hospitals. The recruitment of Physiotherapists was done after 17 years.
