News Desk. News Nation 360: To facilitate and expedite the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) for its last-mile delivery executives, or Wishmasters, who presently work as quick-commerce riders for Flipkart Minutes in more than 20 cities, including major markets like Delhi NCR, Patna, and Bengaluru, Flipkart has introduced EV Assist, a centralised digital marketplace. Building on a significant fleet scaling effort that saw its active electric deployment double over the previous year to surpass 20,000 active vehicles during the 2025 festive season, this strategic rollout is the most recent stage of Flipkart's long-term EV100 initiative to fully electrify its logistics network. Based on a thorough internal study that tracked insights from more than 6,000 delivery partners, Flipkart discovered that although 46% of riders are explicitly willing to switch to green mobility, the main obstacles are still fragmented rental options, upfront financing access, and regional charging infrastructure. These issues are made worse by the fact that nearly 90% of petrol-dependent riders spend between ₹2,000 and ₹5,000 per month on fuel, while switching to electric two-wheelers can reduce energy overheads by 70% to 80% and increase partner income by 15% to 20% because they require significantly less maintenance. Through an inclusive, multilingual interface that supports English, Hindi, Bengali, and Kannada, EV Assist serves as a single platform that links delivery partners directly with reliable, vetted EV fleet and rental operators in order to reduce the daily friction of car ownership. Wishmasters can use this digital portal to browse personalised two-wheeler rental packages that are tailored to their particular city and clear weekly budget brackets, which range from less than ₹1,000 to more than ₹2,000 per week. They can log their commercial interest with just their name and mobile phone number to arrange for direct onboarding and asset allocation. The vehicles themselves have speed-compliance limits, protective safety equipment, and an integrated smart-tech layer made up of IoT nodes, GPS tracking, and geofencing for real-time asset monitoring and theft prevention. Mobility partners offer complete end-to-end vehicle servicing and operational support to maximise high-frequency logistics. Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of the Flipkart Group, emphasised that a meaningful national transition hinges heavily on affordability and ground-level structural practicality, positioning Flipkart's massive supply chain scale to drive responsible, systemic change that extends well beyond its corporate boundaries. As part of a wider ecosystem play, Flipkart is actively collaborating with OEMs, financiers, and infrastructure developers to install heavy-duty charging solutions across dense delivery routes, alongside separate mid-mile green initiatives featuring piloted electric trucks on major freight corridors like NCR-Jaipur and NCR-Agra to decarbonise its broader regional operations.
