News Desk. News Nation 360: Alley cricket is gradually disappearing in North Kolkata due to the prevalence of mobile phones and digital entertainment in the high-tech era. The Shyampukur Seven Star Club recently held a thrilling neighbourhood cricket event with eight teams named after well-known IPL teams in an effort to revive this lost culture and re-engage the younger generation. Alongside Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, and Rajasthan Royals, "Kolkata Knight Riders" won the competition,
while "Lucknow Super Giants" came in second. Prominent dignitaries such as Sanjay Roy (Trustee, Hindu Satkar Samity), Dibakar Chakraborty (Artist), Anil Das (Advocate), Shubhashis Roy (President, RP Welfare Trust), Sushmita Roy (Secretary, RP Welfare Trust), and Arindam Mallick (Secretary, Mohun Bagan Fan Club) graced the event, which attracted a large, joyous crowd of locals of all ages. According to club officials, these programs will be expanded in the future with the goal of using sports to conserve North Kolkata's rich cultural legacy.
