News Desk, News Nation 360 : The nominees for the 8th edition of the West Bengal Film Journalists' Association Award 2023, known as the "Cinemar Samabartan," were revealed by the West Bengal Film Journalists' Association (WBFJA). This year, the nominations were announced electronically. Shoma A Chaterji, a seasoned film critic, spoke to the audience about the ceremony this year, which is scheduled for January 14, 2024. The nominations were made public by Samrat Mukhopadhyay, Balmiki Chattopadhyay, Sajal Dutta, and Nirmal Dhar, Secretary of the West Bengal Film Journalists' Association (WBFJA). Most Promising Director, Most Promising Actor, Most Promising Actress, Most Popular Film of the Year, Most Popular Actor of the Year, Best Music, Best Playback Singer (Male), Best Playback Singer (Female), Best Background Score, Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Actor in a Negative Role, Best Actor in Comic Role, and Lifetime Achievement Award (in memory of the late Satyajit Ray) are among the nomination categories. Best Screenplay, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor, Best Lyricist, Best Art Director, Best Sound Designer, Best Costume Designer, and Best Makeup Artist are the award categories for the technical segments.
Nirmal Dhar, Secretary of the West Bengal Film Journalists’ Association (WBFJA) stated that as the leading platform for creative storytellers, Cinemar Samabartan honours the best actors in Bangla cinema. The only way the award ceremony is overseen is through nominations; no administrative or other form of interference is supported or followed. They sincerely hope that, as in past years, the ceremony night will honour some of the most exquisite creations and outstanding performances made in 2023. The East's first event to air digitally is the WBFJA Award. The Awards, which are held on Sunday, January 14, 2024, aim to recognise the brightest stars in the film industry.
