News Desk. News Nation 360: On April 21, 2026, Victoria Memorial Hall (VMH) and Manipal Hospitals held a CPR training and heart health awareness program at Durbar Hall. The effort was created to improve public safety and institutional emergency preparedness because VMH has more than 3 million visits each year. Indian chess grandmaster Dibyendu Barua was the guest of honour, while Thierry Morel, the French consul general in Kolkata, was the chief guest. The program, which was run by Dr Sayan Bhattacharya, Secretary & Curator of VMH, was in line with the national Swachhata Pakhwada and the Fit India objective, with a particular emphasis on teaching frontline personnel and Safai Mitras life-saving techniques. During technical workshops, Dr Kishen Goel gave practical CPR instruction, and Dr Sumanta Chatterjee discussed the growing prevalence of heart disease in younger populations. In keeping with the Viksit Bharat @ 2047 vision, this initiative represents a change in the function of contemporary museums, going beyond art preservation to become inclusive, secure public venues that prioritise community well-being and the "dignity of labour."
