News Desk, News Nation 360: In honour of World Environment Day, Amra Padatik organised a special environmental awareness camp next to the Shitala Temple in Sonagachi, Kolkata. Joydeep Chattopadhyay, Pragya Paramita, Shubhashis Roy (Secretary of the RP Welfare Trust), and Sumita Roy (President of the RP Welfare Trust) were among the notable local figures who participated in the civic engagement program, which was led by the organisation's secretary, Shatabdi Saha. One of the camp's main highlights was a series of cultural performances by the kids from the Sonagachi Day Care Centre. They used song, dance, and poetry recitals to spread the ecological message of "Save Green, Save the Earth." Arriving guests and dignitaries were formally congratulated with live tree saplings instead of conventional keepsakes, signifying a shared commitment to urban environmental conservation and upholding the gathering's sustainable spirit. Speaking to the local legislature, Shatabdi Saha urged people to constantly adopt eco-friendly everyday living choices, emphasising that ecological conservation cannot be limited to a single annual calendar date. In order to eradicate single-use plastics and create a neighbourhood free of pollution, she emphasised the urgent need for proactive public participation. She concluded the campaign with the widespread support and impromptu cooperation of Sonagachi inhabitants.
