News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Kolkata-based film production house, Indo-Americana Production launched the poster of their awaited Political Thriller, 'Shibpur'. 'Shibpur' is going to highlight before the audience the picture of 80s to 90s Shibpur, which was the period of extreme political turbulence and other socio-economic disputes. The narrative begins with a political journalist associated with a leading daily in Kolkata discovers an interesting story of a woman who used to be the lady mafia gang leader in the 80s Shibpur and dominated the area for an extended period. To an utter surprise for everyone, who was aware of her rage and control, this lady mafia went missing in the late 90s and was never found by anyone again. The movie is based on the life of an ordinary woman inhabiting an area of Shibpur. It is going to portray the thrilling journey of this ordinary lady who despite belonging to a humble background and herself also a dedicated and affectionate housewife subsequently emerges to be a threat as she becomes the leading figure of a mafia nexus. Directed by Arindam Bhattacharya, 'Shibpur' is produced by Sandeep Sarkar & Ajanta Sinha Roy of Indo-Americana Production. Sujay Dutta Roy is the editor while Sulagna Chowdhury has done the costume. Prasenjit Choudhury is the DOP of Shibpur. The movie bears the finest artist in the leading roles including, Mamata Shankar, Parambrata Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Susmita Chatterjee, Rajatava Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee & Sujan Neel Mukhopadhyay. 'Shibpur' is going to hit the standalone theatres and multiplexes across West Bengal on 5th May 2023.
