St. Xavier's Alumni salutes Corona Warriers
News Desk, News Nation 360: St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association continues its commitment and support in combating Covid-19. After helping the poor and needy people, whose livelihood has been at stake due to outbreak of corona, the St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association came forward to salute the Corona Warriors. It distributed 300 pieces of PPEs to the doctors and health support providers of a city-based private charity hospital. The PPEs have been procured as per approved quality norms of WHO and Govt. The association already took an active part in St. Xavier's Kolkata's contribution of Rs. 40 lakhs to Chief Minister's Special Corona Relief Fund. It arranged the distribution of family ration to 500 needy people during Good Friday and Easter. The Principal of the College and President of the Association Rev. Fr. Dominic Savio, told they need to stand by the doctors and other frontline health service providers, who are extending yeomen humanitarian service at this trying time. Their small effort will surely give a positive signal to that section of the society, which is trying to socially outcast this noble professional. The St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association also distributed food packets to eight villages around the rural campus of the college at Raghabpur in South 24 Parganas. St. Xavier’s college identified 16 villages in South 24 Parganas district and distributed essentials to about 3000 families. St. Xavier’s committed to helping people who go through hardships due to Covid19 till the pandemic is over.
