Government College of Art and Craft Students' Annual Exhibition 2023-2024 Parampara is going to be held at the Academy of Fine Arts

News Desk, News Nation 360 : One of the most renowned and ancient Visual Arts colleges on the subcontinent is the Government College of Art and Craft in Calcutta. Annual student artwork exhibitions have been a tradition of the institution since its founding in 1854 at Garanhata. The inaugural student exhibition took place in 1855, under the auspices of the former Calcutta School of Art, from January 22 to February 3. The establishment takes pride in being the alma mater of notable alumni and alumnae who have participated in past Parampara exhibitions. They have made a lasting impression on the world of art. The college's nonpartisan Student Union has been working to collectively continue the tradition in the present. The organisers of the exhibition, the office staff, students, teachers, the principal of the institution, Prof. Chhatrapati Dutta, and the

student union have all made consistent, sincere contributions to the success of this artistic event. The Academy of Fine Arts (2, Cathedral Road, Kolkata) and Gaganedra Silpa Pradarshashala (1/1 A.J.C. Bose Road, Kolkata, Near Nandan) will host this year's "Parampara" - "Students Annual Exhibition 2023-2024." Usually held on college property, this year's event had to be cancelled due to ongoing, urgently needed renovations to the college's heritage building. The best-chosen artworks from foundational to post-graduate students in all of the institution's specialisations, including painting, painting in the Indian style, graphic design/applied art, printmaking, modelling and sculpture, ceramic art and pottery, textile design, design - wood and leather, and mural art, will be on display in the exhibition.
