News Desk, News Nation 360 : One of India's top data centre providers, Nxtra by Airtel, has pledged to source only renewable electricity and joined the RE100 initiative, a global flagship project run by Climate Group in collaboration with CDP. The company has contracted 422,000 MWh of renewable energy to date, a significant increase in its use of renewable energy. By sourcing renewable energy through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Captive Solar Rooftop Plants, Nxtra was able to save approximately 156,595 tCO2e emissions in FY 2023–2024. With this, Nxtra underlines its commitment to environmental sustainability and its goal of becoming net-zero by 2031 and becomes the only data centre organisation in India to have pledged to RE100. It is also the 14th Indian company to reach this milestone. Ashish Arora, CEO — Nxtra by Airtel, stated that as a brand that cares about the environment, they have been using more and more clean energy options. They are pleased to join the RE100 initiative and pledge to use only renewable energy sources. They are on a good path to reaching their net-zero goals by 2031. Nxtra by Airtel is committed to environmental sustainability and aims to achieve net-zero emissions by FY 2031. They are implementing a multi-pronged approach that includes using new technologies, optimizing their operations, and taking various actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
