News Desk, News Nation 360 : Mega Plantation Drive is an initiative launched by renowned real estate developer Siddha Group with the dual goals of improving community welfare and environmental sustainability. Celebrities such as Dr Dhriti Banerjee, Director of the Zoological Survey of India, Aloke Sanyal, Assistant Commissioner, Kolkata Police (Headquarters), actress Sohini Sarkar, and Siddharth Sethia, Joint Managing Director, Siddha Group, in association with the NGOs Harimitti and Mrittika Earthy Talks Foundation, graced the Plantation Drive. A group of eager kids also participated in the event, planting the saplings alongside the distinguished guests. With this group effort, a big step towards building a more sustainable and greener future has begun. The Siddha Group's continued commitment to halting climate change, minimising environmental degradation, and protecting biodiversity is demonstrated by this initiative, which got its start in New Town, Kolkata. Given the urgency of these issues, Siddha Group has committed to planting 50,000 saplings by the year 2030. The guests planted 100 saplings at the beginning of the initiative, and then the kids did the same, opening the door for more community and stakeholder participation. Siddharth Sethia, Joint Managing Director of Siddha Group stated that they think that meaningful change can be enacted through group action. Not only do they want to plant trees, but they also want to establish healthy ecosystems that benefit the neighbourhood and the environment. The current Miyawaki technique is especially successful because it fosters quick development and biodiversity, resulting in the creation of robust and sustainable mini-forests.
