Dubbed the "Club Pavilion T10 RWA SUMMER LEAGUE 2024," the cricket competition aims to cultivate a sense of sportsmanship and promote healthy living among Joy's residents. from various parts of the city. Over 250 cricket enthusiasts will participate in 37 matches played across 3 weekends, with the final match happening on June 23rd at 7 pm. Matches will be played under floodlights at the state-of-the-art Club Pavilion sports facility at Merlin Rise, which boasts a 200-person seating capacity, over 100 car parking spaces with valet service, a digital scoreboard, sight screens, practice pitches, team dugouts, and CAB-certified pitches. The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a trophy, while the runner-up gets Rs 16,000 and a trophy. There are also various individual awards to be won, including Man of the Match, Man of the Series,
Best Batsman, and Best Bowler. Speaking on the occasion, Saket Mohta, Managing Director, Merlin Group stated that Merlin Group is developing Merlin Rise in Rajarhat as the first-of-its-kind sports township to promote a healthy lifestyle and revive interest in sports. Their vision includes a state-of-the-art sports complex with cricket, football grounds, an indoor cricket facility, practice areas, and academies. The R10 Football Academy by Ronaldinho and Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence are already operational with over 200 students, and residential facilities are available for them. Merlin Rise aims to become a self-sufficient sports city with healthcare facilities, schools, and over 10,000 apartments and plans to host more sports leagues in the future.
