A Free Eye Screening Camp for Drivers of Public Vehicles was Organised at the Gariahat Crossing by the South East Traffic Guard in Collaboration with Disha Eye Hospitals

News Desk, News Nation 360 : A free eye screening camp was held today at the Gariahat crossing for drivers of public transport by the South East Traffic Guard of the Kolkata Police in collaboration with Disha Eye Hospitals. At the camp's opening were Sambaran Banerjee, a former cricket player and national selector, Asish Kumar Roy, the officer in charge of the South East Traffic Guard, and Debasish Bhattacharya, the MD and chairman of Disha Eye Hospitals. The volunteer camp was successful in offering genuine retinal screening and sufficient recommendations to a considerable number of drivers of autos, taxis, rickshaws, and motorcycles on its first day of

operation. The free eye screening service was also utilised by the street vendors, who received assistance from the on-site representatives. Asish Kumar Roy, Officer In Charge, South East Traffic Guard stated that with the help of Disha Eye Hospitals, the biggest chain of eye care facilities in Eastern India, a free eye screening camp has been organised to support regular drivers who are responsible for ensuring that commuters' daily travels are safe and efficient. The next Free Eye Screening Camp is scheduled for March 13, 2024, in Thakurpur. Subsequently, it will take place in Chinar Park and Barrackpore in the coming weeks.
