SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360: A three-day national conference and workshop titled "Intervention for Strengthening Child Mental Health and Protection in Schools" was held at C.R. Gasper Memorial Hall from July 27 to 29, 2026, by St. Augustine's Day School and the Azim Premji Foundation Hyderabad. The training program, which was led by school principal Dr Richard Gasper, school president Edna Gasper, and Esther Gasper, brought educators, teachers, and school counsellors together to provide them with useful techniques for identifying psycho-social distress, putting safeguards in place, and creating emotionally supportive learning environments. Prominent child and adolescent mental health specialists Dr Shekhar Seshadri (renamed a child psychiatrist) and Dr Sheila Ramaswamy (psycho-social care specialist) led interactive sessions at the press conference. They emphasised how important it is for educational institutions to set up early detection systems, implement thorough child protection frameworks, and foster student resilience.
