SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Just before Durga Puja, Acropolis Mall, one of India's top modern shopping destinations, celebrated its tenth anniversary with a mix of charity and celebration. Reaffirming its position as one of Kolkata's most beloved places, Acropolis Mall continues to establish standards in retail and community engagement after ten years of success. To mark the occasion, Sushil Mohta, Chairman of Merlin Group and Acropolis Mall developer, along with renowned singer Soumitra Roy, gave new clothes and shoes to 65 underprivileged children from Pathchala, a non-profit organisation for Kalighat's underprivileged children. The event was graced by Rukmini Paul, President of Pathchala, and Subhadip Basu, GM of Acropolis Mall, so that the children could begin the festive period with added delight and dignity. The event was also made richer by cultural performances that included a captivating presentation by celebrated Odissi dancer and choreographer Trisha Das Mandal and her group, who rendered Ganesh Vandana, Agamani songs of welcome to Goddess Durga, and a colourful folk medley. The Pathchala children also presented their talents in a lively performance, making the event warmer and livelier. It culminated with a big cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate ten years of Acropolis Mall. Commenting on the journey, Sushil Mohta stated that Acropolis Mall has changed the neighbourhood's atmosphere in addition to providing branded shopping and leisure opportunities under one roof. It has developed into a bustling social area where friends and family have congregated for the last ten years. Additionally, the mall has acted as a catalyst for community development and job creation. Malls are becoming more and more important in providing opportunities and lifestyle experiences for individuals from all walks of life as metropolitan centres grow.
