SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Indian Railway Security Operations Centre (IRSOC) has awarded Airtel Business a multi-year contract to provide comprehensive, industry-leading security services to protect the digital spine of India's railway network. An important national resource is India's railway system, which runs more than 13,000 trains every day, serves over 20 million passengers, handles millions of digital transactions, and moves more than 1.5 billion tonnes of freight annually. In the face of growing cyberthreats, safeguarding this vast amount of valuable data—such as customer IDs, financial information, ticketing, train monitoring, freight, and signalling data—is essential. To create multi-layered protection for the railway's enormous datasets, Airtel Business will offer sophisticated, centralised security measures. This strategy protects all digital operations, including those involving 160,000 people spread over 26 sites, by guaranteeing a robust and secure backend. The security technology stack will include cutting-edge "Make in India" cybersecurity technologies in addition to industry-leading solutions, providing a sovereign, fully compliant, and AI-embedded ecosystem created especially for protecting critical infrastructure. Sharat Sinha, CEO & Director – Airtel Business, stated that they, at Airtel Business, recognise the importance of modern defence systems in the current era of growing cyber threats that jeopardise data integrity, operational continuity, and passenger safety. They are honoured to have been selected by IRSOC as their reliable partner to strengthen the security of India's largest and most intricate digital infrastructure, which includes extensive databases and railway networks. In addition to providing safe and seamless digital services to millions of daily railway commuters, their strong security layer will improve security efficiency in ticketing and data management and protect all railway digital operations from emerging cyber threats.
