An Adda Over Coffee & Food Honouring Kolkata's Changing Culinary Traditions

News Desk, News Nation 360: At the famed Park Street institution Trincas, prominent creative and cultural voices gathered for “From Cabins to Cafés: An Adda Over Food & Coffee”, a lively panel discussion on Kolkata's changing culinary landscape, evolving lifestyles, and the place of its historic eateries in the face of modern cafe culture. The session was an extension of the Bengal edition of the coffee-table book Strictly Delicious, by musician and restaurateur Debaditya Chaudhury (founder of Chowman, Oudh 1590, Chapter 2, and Chaudhury & Company) and was moderated by Chaudhury with writer-lyricist Chandril Bhattacharya, singer-songwriter and composer Anupam Roy, National Award-winning actor Riddhi Sen, and actor-entrepreneur Ritabhari Chakraborty. Tackling the question if iconic legacy cabins run the risk of being overtaken by their modern counterparts, the panellists stressed that while Kolkata's culinary landscape is a confluence of new and old, its legacy dens are key to keeping its soul intact. Chaudhury re-emphasised that by documenting these historic dens, the stories, artisanship and memories that they encapsulate would live on for the ages.
