News Desk, News Nation 360 : Axis Bank, one of India's leading private sector banks, and Antara jointly laid the groundwork for the Axis Bank Antara Institute of Health Sciences (AIHS) at Antaragram, Kolkata. The ceremony was held in honour of World Mental Health Day 2025, reaffirming the Bank's commitment to increasing knowledge, capability, and access to quality mental healthcare in India. The ceremony was attended by Amitabh Chaudhry, MD & CEO of Axis Bank; Reynold D'Souza, President & Head - Branch Banking, North & East & TASC Business, Axis Bank; Dr Matthew P. John, Hon. General Secretary of Antara; Kamal Prakash, President of Antara; and senior Axis Bank representatives. The Antara Institute of Health Sciences represents a big step forward in Eastern India's mental health education and training. The Institute will be a prominent centre for students and professionals interested in studying mental health and related subjects. The Institute will have modern infrastructure, academic programs, and training resources to solve India's urgent mental health professional deficit. This program highlights Axis Bank and Antara's joint mission of supporting comprehensive mental health care and education for future generations. Speaking on the occasion, Amitabh Chaudhry, MD & CEO, Axis Bank, stated that they are honoured to collaborate with Antara to develop a pioneering educational institution dedicated to mental health. This endeavour is about more than just establishing an institute; it is about fostering hope, capacity, and resilience in India.
