News Desk, News Nation 360: BIG FM’s festive intellectual property, BIG Green Durga, returns for the fifth time in 2026 with the theme ‘Shashya-er Shakti’ (The Power of Food Grain) in association with the Bhadreswar Group. The sustainability-led celebration revolves around an eco-friendly Maa Durga idol made out of paddy grains, rice, and paddy straw. In previous years, idols have been crafted using paper pulp, jute, recycled plastic, and 3D holography. This edition’s interactive campaign, #Dhannyokalash, invites citizens of Kolkata to donate fistfuls of rice from 15 resident welfare associations, 15 colleges, and 15 para centre vans, across 45 points. The grains will be multiplied by the Bhadreswar Group into Maha Bhog and distributed to old-age homes and orphanages. Devotees will experience the ‘Cycle of Shakti’ awakening that will run throughout the five-day Durga Puja. Actress Swastika Dutta will be the face of the campaign, while Reliance Broadcast Network Limited CEO Ashit Kukian will support the initiative. An open-air pavilion that takes back the image of the paddy fields of Bengal will be set up at the City Centre 1 Kund in Salt Lake, with the presence of a large crowd, to showcase the convergence of environmental consciousness, community service, and cultural festivities.
