News Desk, News Nation 360 : BookMyShow Foundation has re-launched its socially-driven initiative as BookAChange, building upon its initial avatar as BookASmile (initiated in 2014). BookAChange focuses on enhancing the lives of marginalized talent through performing arts and music, making access to these arts available to underprivileged communities and individuals across India. The central purpose of the initiative is to motivate and cultivate future music and performing arts pioneers, and to develop them through a well-rounded education involving emotional, social, and intellectual growth, and encouraging attributes such as responsibility, self-esteem, and resilience. One of the central pillars of BookAChange is its new music scholarship initiative, committing 500 scholarships to enable disadvantaged individuals who are gifted to study music and the music business at accredited institutions. These scholarships will be offered in different fields such as instrumental music, vocals, audio production, music business, and songwriting. BookAChange provides financial support to deserving students, and applications are now available. BookAChange makes use of the BookMyShow platform to motivate users to contribute to this cause, beginning with micro-donations of Re. 1 on every ticket purchase, and also accepts direct contributions. To further its goal of ensuring that everyone has access to music education, BookAChange plans to introduce several revolutionary projects throughout India. Thirty Dharavi students are undergoing specific training in rap and DJing in Mumbai, giving them the necessary abilities under the guidance of professionals to present Dharavi Dreams, India's first hip-hop musical theatre. Furthermore, a dedicated choir program is currently guiding 125 students from Mumbai's BMC schools through a rigorous 10-month journey in Hindustani classical music, providing opportunities for further education and certification. Speaking about the launch of BookAChange, Farzana Cama Balpande, Head of BookAChange, stated that BookAChange ushers

in a new era in which our dedication to using the arts to change the world grows and deepens. By fostering dreams, closing gaps, and establishing inclusive access where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, they hope to increase their impact with BookAChange. Their goals are to empower marginalised people and communities, democratise access to music and the performing arts, and motivate the upcoming generation of trailblazers in the field. Their future is about more than just the arts; it's about creativity, teamwork, and an unwavering quest for a better world for everybody.
