SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : One of the top manufacturers of wood panels in India, Century Plyboards (India) Ltd., announced the opening of the country's largest particleboard production plant at Therovy Kandigai, which is close to Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This calculated move solidifies the company's position as the industry leader in the wood panel sector and represents a major turning point in its development. Commenting on the launch, Keshav Bhajanka, Executive Director, CenturyPly, stated that in addition to being the biggest in India, this plant represents their forward-thinking outlook. Their faith in Tamil Nadu's robust infrastructure, highly qualified labour force, and forward-thinking industrial policy is reflected in their investment in the state. As they expand their activities, the region is a logical choice due to its highly developed industrial ecosystem and abundance of talent. Due to its robust consumer demand and incredibly encouraging business climate, which complements their long-term growth strategy, Tamil Nadu has become one of their top target markets. This facility will improve their service capacities and make a significant contribution to nation-building with a laser-like emphasis on efficiency and sustainability. The new facility, with a vast footprint and latest technology, is the only single particle board manufacturing facility in India with a production capacity of 800cubic meters per annum, making it poised to fulfil increased demand for high-end engineered wood panels both nationally and globally. Establishing new standards for size, quality, and automation within the sector, it outcompetes its counterparts in terms of production capacity. The plant is planned to create more than 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the region. Giving importance to sustainability, the plant is planned to utilise environment-friendly raw materials, energy-saving systems, and water conservation practices in order to keep its environmental footprint to a minimum. Its proximity to major ports and transportation hubs in Chennai maximises logistical efficiency and facilitates easier access to Southern India's markets as well as to export markets. With local industrial development and economic activity stimulated by the plant, Tamil Nadu is encouraged towards attracting high-value manufacturing investments and the state's industrial base is further augmented.
