News Nation 360: Cognisant (NASDAQ: CTSH) celebrated a major milestone in developing AI-ready talent in India by successfully wrapping off the Cognizant® Technoverse Hackathon 2026 at its Pune site. Over 22,000 pre-final year engineering students from 450 colleges, including prestigious establishments like IITs and NITs, participated in the tournament. This year's tournament was notable for its emphasis on diversity, with over 1,100 all-women teams competing and 62% of competitors being female. Team AeroFyta from the Chennai Institute of Technology won the top prize of ₹3,00,000 after a 24-hour grand finale backed by AWS infrastructure. Team Devtronix from Coimbatore won ₹1,00,000, while Team Owlgorithms from Techno Main Salt Lake in Kolkata won ₹2,00,000. The hackathon, according to Rajesh Varrier, Chairman & Managing Director of Cognisant India, is an essential link between AI technology and company value since it empowers a broad group of prospective "AI builders."
