Dalmia Cement Honoured Eastern India's Veterans on Independence Day

News Desk, News Nation 360 : One of India's top cement producers, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL), honoured the brotherhood of war veterans and ex-servicemen from the armed services throughout Eastern India with "Saluting 78," an homage to the 78th anniversary of the nation. The corporation honoured the bravery and sacrifice of 78 veterans from Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand in ceremonies that united communities. In West Bengal, 21 veterans from various services and ranks were honoured for their exceptional bravery and unshakeable commitment to the nation. The recipient lists included Vice Admiral Bimalendu Guha, PVSM, AVSM, IN (Retd), who was awarded for his distinguished naval service and remarkable leadership in crucial missions, including the 1971 Bangladesh War, representing West Bengal's strong and abiding contribution to India's defence and naval power. Every veteran was honoured with a plaque, a trophy, a shawl, the Indian National Flag, and a commemorative album that included all 78 honoured veterans, making the event both emotionally priceless and historically valuable. The event also saw active participation by local citizens, schoolchildren, community leaders, and other distinguished personalities, a testament to the community's sincere respect and gratitude towards the nation's heroes. Commenting on the initiative, a spokesperson for Dalmia Cement stated that Dalmia Cement has stood for more than 85 years, not only for constructing infrastructure but also for preserving the principles that bind their country together. With "Saluting 78," the brand celebrates this prestigious group of soldiers whose bravery and selflessness serve as the cornerstone of their freedom. This project reinforces their dedication to creating a robust, strong, and united India in addition to long-lasting structures.
