SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : More than just a celebration, Durga Puja is a feeling that unites generations with devotion, custom, and creativity. In collaboration with Support Elders, an organisation run by former Indian Army personnel that offers comprehensive services to senior citizens in South Kolkata, Desun Hospital has organised Desun Puja Parikrama 2025 to make sure that senior citizens can also enjoy the lively spirit of Kolkata's biggest celebration. In association with this special program, senior citizens took a guided tour to South Kolkata's most prominent puja pandals, with a ceremonial departure from Desun Hospital and visits to places like Bosepukur Sitala Mandir, Hindustan Park, Ballygunge Cultural Association, Samajsebi Sangha, and Rajdanga Naba Uday Sangha. With total safety and comfort assured, the senior citizens were escorted by a medical team and an ambulance while on their excursion. The celebrations reached their peak with a felicitation ceremony at Rajdanga Naba Uday Sangha, where the seniors were felicitated for their strength, sagacity, and invaluable contributions to society. The programme was attended by Chief Guest Bidisha Kalita Dasgupta, IPS, Deputy Commissioner (South Suburban Division), Kolkata Police, along with Officers-in-Charge from Kasba Police Station, Kasba Traffic Guard, and Gariahat Police Station. Sharing her thoughts at the event, Shaoli Dutta, CEO, Desun Hospital, stated that their elders are the real stewards of culture, and Durga Puja is a celebration of community. They want them to feel safe, appreciated, and cared for while reliving the festive mood with the same enthusiasm as younger generations through Desun Puja Parikrama. They are recognising their position at the centre of their lives by taking this voyage.
