News Desk, News Nation 360: The national travelling art show, titled "Ekaa – The One," was launched in Kolkata on the 9th of March, 2026. This contemporary expression of the 64 Yoginis, an ancient cultural phenomenon that spans the period between the 9th century and the 12th century, is an exploration of the depth and complexity that has still not risen to the surface. This event has been graced by prominent personalities such as Syed Gardezi (Acting Consul, U.S. Consulate), theme artist Anirban Das, and Raju Burman, founder of Rupa Publications. This is not a commercial event but has been the result of five years of meticulous research and creation. Dr Beena S. Unnikrishnan, founder of the Kankali Trust, has ensured that it comes to life. This is the Kolkata leg of the event, which has been conducted in Kochi and across prominent cities in 16 states. This event consists of 64 paintings that portray the Yoginis not in an ancient, mythological context but as contemporary manifestations of feminine knowledge. Another interesting fact about the artist is that she starts each painting by drawing the eyes first, thus connecting with the form before moving on to the rest of the creation. This event is free to attend, keeping in line with the fact that it is not commercial in nature.
