News Desk, News Nation 360 : Cholo Dourai and Feats of Joy give voice to the JBG Kolkata Marathon's ten-year journey. The official event song and book were released in Kolkata, in the presence of renowned athletes such as Dola Banerjee, Archer, Anju Bobby George, Long Jumper, Mehtab Hossain, Former Footballer and Coach, Gurbux Singh, Former Hockey Player, Joydeep Karmakar, Shooter, and other dignitaries and members of the sporting and literary communities. Speaking at the launch, Gaurav Jajodia, Director, Jai Balaji Group, stated that when the Marathon debuted in 2016 with only 99 participants, few could have predicted the movement that would emerge. It is one of Kolkata's finest traditions, bringing together thousands of runners who run not just to win, but also to belong. As the JBG Kolkata Marathon celebrates its tenth year, Feats of Joy pays tribute to individuals who run towards life rather than away from it. To those who fall, get back up, and keep running. To those who define their own finish lines in sports and beyond. "Feats of Joy" is a celebratory book marking ten years of the Jai Balaji Group Kolkata Marathon, highlighting fifty inspiring stories of Indian athletes who have overcome adversity to achieve greatness, featuring champions like Neeraj Chopra, P.V. Sindhu, Yogesh Kathuniya, and Rani Rampal. The book captures the spirit of Indian sports through stories of grit, resilience, and passion from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, emphasising that champions are made through perseverance and determination rather than born. The launch event, held on November 9, 2025, featured prominent athletes such as Anju Bobby George, Joydeep Karmakar, Dola Banerjee, and Mehtab Hussain, who shared personal stories of struggle and triumph, inspiring a new generation of athletes. Alongside the book, the official marathon anthem "Cholo Dourai" was introduced, a song rooted in Kolkata’s musical heritage that encapsulates the rhythm and spirit of running, celebrating determination and endurance with vibrant rock beats and motivational lyrics. Together, the book and song embody the marathon’s essence—movement, unity, and the unstoppable spirit of the city of Kolkata, inspiring participants and spectators alike to embrace their inner strength and keep moving forward, no matter the hurdles. The event and these creative projects reinforce the marathon’s role in promoting fitness, community, and sporting culture in India.
