The Puja Committee Secretary, Prabandha Roy (Fanta Da), stated that this year commemorates the 68th year of the puja. The puja was inaugurated with a grandiose occasion on October 18, 2025. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, MP and actress June Malia, MLA Madan Mitra, Anupam Halder, Joint Commissioner Excise Department- Government of West Bengal, MLA Supti Pandey, MLA Debasish Kumar, former MLA Sanjay Bakshi, Councillor Sadhana Bose, Councillor Suparna Dutta, Councillor Biswarup Dey, actress and model Sathi Sarkar, and this year's idol artist, Mintu Pal.
