News Desk, News Nation 360 : Supported by Venu Srinivasan of the TVS Group and the family of insurance legend V Jagannathan, Galaxy Health Insurance, India's newest independent health insurer, announced its planned entry into Eastern India with a new regional office in Kolkata that will serve all of West Bengal. The firm's growth roadmap is for onboarding 1000 agents and covering 5000 lives in West Bengal by FY 2026. Local hiring, extensive community engagement, and a digital-first strategy for health insurance distribution will enable the company to achieve these goals. In March 2024, the IRDAI granted Galaxy Health Insurance an operational licence. The company has insured over 120000 lives in its first year of operation and has established a nationwide network of over 12,000 agents. G. Srinivasan, MD & CEO, Galaxy Health Insurance, stated that the bulk of the population is mostly at risk for high out-of-pocket medical costs due to inadequate coverage or a lack of knowledge about the advantages of having insurance. The timely and intentional launch of Galaxy Health Insurance in the West Bengal market aims to provide vulnerable families—particularly those with little access to formal financial systems—with health insurance. Galaxy aims to close the protection gap by deeply penetrating the entire population, especially rural areas. Through regional outreach, wellness incentives, and streamlined plans, Galaxy hopes to enable people to seek care without worrying about their financial situation.
