News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Indian Filmmakers Association and Voice Tech Studio together organised the International Film Festival Bay of Bengal at the Howrah Sarat Sadan. Various films by filmmakers from other Indian states and nations around the world were presented and honoured as part of the film festival, which was held for the first time on Bengali soil. Cinema personalities representing other Indian states, like Assam, Manipur, Kerala, Hyderabad, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Punjab, and Rajasthan, were awarded at an event in Kolkata. They were awarded by famous guests like journalist and director Ritobrata Bhattacharya, director, producer, and distributor Shiuli Gomes, and national and international music composer Pandit Mallar Ghosh.
Among the guests who were present were Partha Chakraborty, former Bangla Doordarshan News Director; Asim Karmakar, High Court Advocate of Kolkata and actor; Anirban Samanta, award-winning social worker; renowned elocutionist and actress Mallika Ghosh; and Odissi dance guru Mata Soma Guha. The whole programme was organised by film director and social worker Badal Sarkar, Event President, and Ramacharan Reddy, Indian Filmmaker Association Secretary. Badal Sarkar declared that the Indian Filmmaker Association will hold more creative film festivals in Bengal and offer financial aid and assistance to short filmmakers in the future. Secretary Ramachandra Reddy mentioned this as their first event, ensuring to guide the filmmakers in different ways in the future. All the guests, artists, and the audience were stunned and thrilled by the initiative.
