News Desk, News Nation 360 : With an exuberant opening at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan on the first day of KOLKATAWOOD 2025, the woodworking, furniture, and mattress industries in Eastern India experienced a significant turning point. The show, which is being organised by NürnbergMesse India, is the most recent development in the 25-year history of IndiaWood, one of the biggest global venues for woodworking and furniture production innovations.  Speaking at the event, Vandana Yadav, IAS (Managing Director, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation; Principal Secretary, Industry Department, and CEO, WB Trade Promotion Organisation), underlined the state’s growing importance in India’s industrial map. She went on to say that West Bengal has a lot of promise because of its trained workforce, growing investments, and strong infrastructure push. The state is a desirable location for trade and production because of the strong demand in the wood and furniture markets. In order to link global innovation with their local potential, platforms such as KolkataWood will be essential. NürnbergMesse India is welcome, and they hope

that they will continue to bring exhibitions and activities to Bengal. KOLKATAWOOD 2025 features more than 150 top brands that are exhibiting innovative machinery, next-generation materials, contemporary design solutions, and latest mattress technologies, complemented by live demonstrations, B2B matching, and training sessions. The event has something for everyone, such as manufacturers, sawmillers, architects, and designers, to explore new possibilities and partnerships. This edition is well-timed in accordance with real estate development, growing disposable incomes, and accelerating urbanisation, fueling demand for contemporary housing, ergonomic furniture, and high-end lifestyle products in Kolkata and Eastern India. Celebrating 25 years of IndiaWood, KolkataWood leverages established platforms in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai to develop a focused hub to enable the growth in Eastern India.
