SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Kafila: A Jhangi Family's Partition Memoir, written by renowned lawyer, author, and cultural icon advocate Sumant Batra, was released today in Kolkata. The 1947 Partition of India is one of the biggest and most horrific catastrophes in recent history, and the book presents a compelling, human viewpoint on it. The odyssey of his forefathers, the Dass family from Rodu Sultan, Jhang, who are uprooted from their motherland amid the upheaval of Partition, is chronicled by Sumant Batra in Kafila. The book depicts the horrific facts of displacement as well as the survivors' unwavering spirit of resiliency by fusing personal family tales with the broader political context of the era. Author Sumant Batra stated that this is the experience of his family, but millions more people suffered through Partition as well. In addition to encouraging the current generation to bring the closure that history has long denied, he wanted to commemorate their memories and tenacity. Kafila is a living record of bravery, survival, and optimism rather than merely a memoir. It protects a fragment of history that might otherwise disappear.
