SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : Malabar Group, India's leading business conglomerate and parent company of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, has set aside INR 150 crore in 2025-26 to expand its CSR initiatives in healthcare, education, hunger and poverty alleviation, women's empowerment, environmental protection, and housing for the underprivileged. Commenting on the initiative, MP Ahammed, Chairman of Malabar Group, stated that at Malabar Group, CSR is an important aspect of their culture, and they believe in giving back to society. They chose May 28 as their annual CSR day, reaffirming their commitment to standing with the underprivileged via consistent and meaningful action. Their CSR initiatives demonstrate that persistent devotion. While they are doing everything they can, more organisations joining this effort will have a greater influence. With 295 million people globally enduring acute hunger (according to UN figures), quick action is required. This urgency drives their meal distribution efforts under the Hunger Free World initiative. The Malabar Group has greatly upscaled its flagship CSR project, 'The Hunger Free World', with a commitment to serving 70,000 meals a day across India and Zambia to the needy, with a target of 2.50 crore meals during 2025-26. This commitment is a big jump from the 2.5 crore meals served cumulatively in the last three years, a reflection of a stronger commitment to food security for poorer communities, and one that is consistent with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 2 - Zero Hunger. The second phase of this CSR initiative was inaugurated by Dr. Amitabh Kant, ex-CEO of NITI Aayog & G-20 Sherpa, at an event organised on World Hunger Day, 28 May 2025, at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, New Delhi. Other guests who were present included M.P. Ahammed, Chairman of Malabar Group; KP Abdul Salam, Vice Chairman of Malabar Group; and O Asher, Managing Director of India Operations at Malabar Gold & Diamonds.
