News Desk, News Nation 360 : One of India's top healthcare providers, Manipal Hospitals Kolkata, hosted the city's first-ever Senior Citizens' Sports Summit today. The program began with the traditional first lamp-lighting ceremony, which was attended by prominent physicians from Manipal Hospitals Kolkata and former Indian cricketer Arun Lal as the main guest. At the summit, over 100 senior citizens enthusiastically participated in a range of games, including spelling bee, chess, carrom, marble and spoon race, musical chairs, brainteasers, and many more. The program's goals were to improve elders' physical health, mental clarity, and agility while also promoting happiness and social engagement. Addressing the occasion, Dr. Ayanabh Debgupta, Regional Chief Operating Officer, Manipal Hospitals – East, stated that they at Manipal Hospitals are dedicated to providing all age groups with comprehensive, integrative treatment, with a focus on the well-being of elderly persons. The fact that their elderly people are having so much fun is sufficient evidence that, if one maintains the will to live, age is just a number. This kind of gathering creates a platform for better friendship and allows their senior citizens to be part of the

mainstream. By recognising the passion and energy of their elders, they seek to inspire young people to understand the importance of holistic health and to view ageing as a life full of joy, dignity, and promise rather than as a limitation. Part of the summit included a very informative panel discussion on the topic of holistic wellbeing for elderly citizens with noted experts from Manipal Hospitals, such as Dr. Jayanta Roy (Director & Head - Neurology, Manipal Hospitals, Kolkata), Dr. Kunal Sarkar (Director - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, Manipal Hospital, Mukundapur Cluster), Dr. Debraj Jash (Consultant - Pulmonology, Manipal Hospitals, Broadway), Dr. Subhasis Roy Choudhury (Consultant - Cardiology, Manipal Hospitals, Broadway), and other eminent doctors. Apart from them, the award ceremony was attended by senior experts from various clusters like Dr. Vikash Kapoor (Director – Orthopaedics, Mukundapur Cluster), Dr. Arindam Pande (Consultant - Interventional Cardiology, EM Bypass Cluster), Dr. Sujoy Das Thakur (Consultant - Cardiology, Mukundapur Cluster), Dr. Chandrasish Chakraborty (Consultant - Interventional Cardiology, Mukundapur Cluster), Dr. Paramita Kanjilal (Consultant - Internal Medicine, Salt Lake Cluster), Dr. Smita Maitra (Consultant - Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Salt Lake Cluster), Dr. Jayanta Das (Consultant - Orthopaedics, Salt Lake Cluster), and others.
