News Desk, News Nation 360: The village of Pathari in Kalaikunda, Paschim Medinipur, reverberated with impassioned indigenous chants of "Johar Burababa, Joy Goram, Johar Mahamancha" on Wednesday, as the Chunaram Mahato Gobinda Mahato Smriti Raksha Committee, in organisational partnership with the Chhotanagpur Totemic Kurmi Samaj, commemorated the Martyrdom Day of valiant Quit India Movement freedom fighters Shahid Chunaram Mahato and Shahid Gobinda Mahato with the grand ceremonial unveiling of their bronze bust statues. Beginning with sacred ancestral rituals of Karam Puja in keeping with indigenous customs, the gathering featured vibrant folk performances by celebrated Jhumur vocalists Deepak Mahato, Jayanta Mahato, and Malay Mahato and traditional synchronized Pata dancers, concluding with the unveiling of the statues by Minister Rajesh Mahato and the community dignitaries who garlanded the memorials; addressing the assembled multitude, the speakers emphasized the need to preserve the sacrifices of local martyrs for future generations and specially felicitated land donors Nitai Mahato and Chiranjit Mahato and statue benefactor Manoranjan Mahato for creating a permanent memorial shrine that seamlessly unified historical remembrance, Kurmi cultural heritage and regional solidarity.
