Mentaid Organised the Annual Inclusive Sports Meet

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Mentaid, in its 40th year, hosted an Annual Inclusive Sports Meet on November 25 at St. Thomas' Girls' School, Diamond Harbour. The Annual Inclusive Sports Meet was established to raise awareness about people with intellectual disabilities and their inclusion in society. The meeting began in the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Brigadier Debashis Das. Mentaid's Inclusive Sports Meet brought together children and young people with disabilities from special schools such as Behala Naba Proyas and Nirmal Niketan, as well as students from

mainstream St. Thomas' Girls' School. There were 160-200 participants, including 50 from Mentaid, families, staff, and community service students. The events included a March Past, Drill Display, and numerous track and field activities that encouraged equitable participation while also recognising shared accomplishment, effort, and fun in order to create confidence, teamwork, and mutual understanding among participants with and without disabilities. The meet emphasised sporting spirit while creating memorable experiences that promote self-worth, resilience, and long-term bonds, reinforcing Mentaid's mission to increase visibility and empowerment for people with disabilities through community engagement.
