News Desk, News Nation 360: Narayana Health’s haematological and oncological clinical experts have managed to accomplish two important feats regarding the treatment of these diseases. These include the successful use of Haplo-Cord stem cell transplant to treat a child aged seven years suffering from transfusion-dependent HbE Beta thalassemia and the complete remission of a 62-year-old individual suffering from chemo-resistant Primary CNS Lymphoma through novel dual CAR-T cell therapy targeting both CD19 and CD22. Through the 'Save the Sibling' program in collaboration with Cordlife Sciences India, which made IVF and pre-implantation genomic HLA-matching possible to collect healthy sibling cord blood with additional stem cells from the father, the former was able to recover from post-transplant complications and become transfusion-free, whereas the latter was completely radiologically cleared of brain lesions upon follow-up MRI scan. The following achievements by Narayana Health can be attributed to the fact that the use of precise cellular therapies such as Haplo-Cord transplantation and customised CAR-T constructs is the ability of Narayana Health.
