Nishant Kanodia Encouraged Matix Group to Enter the Manufacturing of Speciality and Industrial Chemicals

Initiated in collaboration with McKinsey, the planned product portfolio aims to invest a total of Rs. 2600 crores in this industry. Nishant Kanodia, Chairman, Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited, stated that they are now the biggest single-stream fertiliser company in Eastern India, having proven their ability to construct and run major manufacturing facilities. The goal of the industrial and speciality chemicals venture is to address the growing local demand in this vital industry by utilising their current infrastructure and building on years of operational experience. This increase is consistent with Matix's long-term goal of responsibly diversifying into high-growth chemical industries in addition to fertilisers. Their dedication to regional development and the industrial and economic progress of the country is constant as they propel innovation and scalability. Matix is setting up Eastern India's first Iso-Propyl Alcohol (IPA) production unit in its current complex at Panagarh Industrial Park, West Bengal, with an envisioned annual capacity of 50 KTPA to consolidate domestic availability for the pharma and personal care sector; the facility, targeted to be commissioned in FY2027, is aligned with India's #AtmaNirbharBharat vision and expansion of the industrial chemicals industry, and Matix has established a consistent domestic supply of Acetone, one of the key raw materials, under a Memorandum of Understanding with AdPlus Chemicals and Polymers Private Limited, a unit of Haldia Petrochemicals Limited.
