Nxtwave and IIT Kharagpur Sign MOU for OCN Micro-specialisation Programs

News Desk, News Nation 360: The top edtech startup in India, NxtWave, has announced a historic partnership with IIT Kharagpur that will give students enrolled in its 2026 NxtWave Intensive Advanced Technology (NIAT) upskilling program direct access to credit-bearing micro-specialisation courses offered through the IIT Kharagpur Outreach Course Network (OCN), a flagship Platinum Jubilee initiative. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed in front of a distinguished group of academics and business representatives, including IIT Kharagpur Director Prof. Suman Chakraborty, Dean of Outreach Prof. Swagata Dasgupta, Associate Dean of Outreach Prof. Rajib Maity, NxtWave Head of Partnerships Girish Akash, and ProofSlate executives, is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to democratise elite technical education. In addition to their regular coursework, qualified students will receive structured exposure to cutting-edge tech fields like Generative AI and Agentic AI through this institutional partnership. Upon successful completion, they will receive an official IIT Kharagpur OCN Micro-Specialisation Certificate, a student identity card, a dedicated institutional email ID, and the esteemed IIT Kharagpur OCN Alumni Status. Prof. Suman Chakraborty and NxtWave Co-Founder & CEO Rahul Attuluri highlighted the alliance's transformative impact, emphasising that this industry-relevant framework successfully extends the rigorous standards and faculty of IIT Kharagpur beyond its physical campus gates, giving the next generation of digital builders and innovators the precise, in-demand skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving, AI-driven global workforce.
