News Desk, News Nation 360 : Ritwik Jaiswal has made a significant impact at the 78th Cannes Film Festival with the poster unveiling of his debut feature film, "Bridge to Utopia." Transitioning from a theatre performer to a director, Ritwik presents raw, unfiltered reality to the screen in a story centred around a mentally challenged lady who suddenly becomes pregnant. Her difficulties, rejection, and path of survival provide the emotional centre of the picture. The poster, which was launched by legendary actor Anupam Kher, director Sudipto Sen, and producer and president of the Film Federation of India, Ravi Kottakkara, depicts a woman and a kid as symbols of the under-represented voices that exist in Kolkata but are seldom heard. During the launch, Ritwik Jaiswal stated that Bridge to Utopia is not only a film—it is an exploration of the unheard voices of society. Launching the poster at Cannes has given the film the global presence it deserves. The cast of the movie, which has its roots in Kolkata's slums, comprises kids from the very neighbourhoods it depicts. Before entering the film industry, Ritwik, who started in theatre, personally led acting classes in these impoverished areas, developing local talent to add realism to the story. After years of working as an actor, this project is the culmination of Ritwik's hard work behind the camera. Although the road has been lengthy, it is the outcome of diligence and God's favour. As a highly symbolic and socially relevant debut, "Bridge to Utopia" is already creating a lot of talk and establishing Ritwik as a daring new voice in Indian indie film.
