Scottish Church College's Handicrafts Exhibition Offers a Special Step Towards Self-Reliance

News Desk, News Nation 360 : A partnership between the historic Scottish Church College in Kolkata and the Santiniketan-based organisation Amar Kutir has created new opportunities in a major effort to empower independent women in West Bengal. Through digital platforms, Amar Kutir is assisting women from different districts of the state in showcasing and selling their handicrafts. The Scottish Church College campus hosted a unique two-day handicrafts exhibition and sale on Thursday, 17.7.25, and Friday, 18.7.25, as part of this initiative. The exhibition featured

women artisans from all over the state who had participated in the college's entrepreneurship development program and received training in digital marketing from Amar Kutir. They displayed a wide range of handcrafted goods, such as batik products, tie-and-dye, and Nakshi Kantha. Dr. Madhumanjuri Mondal, Principal of Scottish Church College, stated that in addition to training students, they also hope to engage outside parties who may be interested. After receiving training from their college, many have launched their businesses. They are receiving assistance from Amar Kutir, who is teaching them internet marketing techniques.
